| Loudermilk Field Dedication |
April 8, 2005 (Demorest, GA) Dodging afternoon rain showers Friday, Piedmont College in Demorest, GA dedicated Loudermilk Field in honor of R. Charles Loudermilk’s grandparents and their children. The beautiful facility was constructed utilizing a financial donation from Charlie and Courtney Loudermilk and will be a premier venue for the school and their athletic department for many years to come.
The dedication started with a reception at the President’s home, followed by dedication ceremonies on the field with university President, Dr. Cleere who introduced Mr. Loudermilk and celebrated his generosity. The Piedmont Lions hosted Emory University in a double-header on the new field, and retired Atlanta Braves stars Steve Bedrosian and Phil Nekro threw out the first pitches. The Lions lost the first game 8-7 and won the second game 5-4.
The Aaron’s marketing team helped entertain the attending crowd with the Aaron’s inflatable storefront and offering free hats, koozies, dream sticks, die cast cars and in-store offers.
The dedication of Loudermilk Field was a proud moment for Charlie, Courtney and the Loudermilk family and their community contributions will be appreciated by all who visit this beautiful facility.
