Aaron’s Sales & Lease Ownership is preparing for a big week in Tennessee leading up to the NASCAR races August 26-27 at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS). The Sports Marketing team will be hosting Aaron’s Vice Presidents and Regional Managers to hospitality on Wednesday and Friday as part of their annual meeting in Knoxville, TN and treat them with tickets for all of the great race events.
For the first time at BMS, Aaron’s will be reaching out to race fans at the corporate display area with games, prizes and entertainment while showcasing Dream Products to attending race fans. There will be special appearances by Michael Waltrip Racing development drivers, Ken and Brett Butler, dance routines from the Tennessee Titans cheerleaders and NASCAR trivia with PRN’s Chuck Carland.
Aaron’s will be hosting an autograph signing at the Aaron’s Sales & Lease Ownership store on Roan Drive in Johnson City, Tuesday, August 23 from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Ken and Brett Butler will be available for autographs and photographs along with other stars from the USAR Hooters ProCup series.
Ken Butler III will be making his first start in a USAR Hooters ProCup car at the “world’s fastest ½ mile” this Wednesday in the No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine. KBIII raced at BMS last year in the Aaron’s ProChallenge Series race, where he finished tenth, but looks forward to racing his ProCup car. “I am pumped up about this race.” Ken said, “We tested here a couple of weeks ago with (NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver) Matt Crafton. He worked with me and showed me the best way around this place and what to look out for when the tires start going away. My lap-times were right up there with Matt’s so I think the car is going to be great. If we can just keep the fenders on it, I believe we can be up front at the end.”
Michael Waltrip will be racing the No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine in the NASCAR Busch Series race on Friday night looking to return to Victory Lane. Waltrip won this race in 2003 and new Crew Chief Butch Hylton and his crew look forward to getting the Dream Machine back to competitive form.
Aaron’s will also host winners of the Bristol Dream Seat promotion Friday and Saturday. As part of the national promotion, newlyweds, Scott Sharron and Penny Huston will be sitting in the Aaron’s Dream Seats for Friday nights Busch Series race and celebrating their honeymoon NASCAR-style. Saturday’s winner Robert Dresbach is surprising his son Nicholas, who is celebrating his seventh birthday, with the Dream Seat trip. Nicholas is a huge NASCAR fan who’s dream is to go to Bristol Motor Speedway someday, and Dad and Aaron’s will make his dream come true.
Aaron’s own Mike Gamble and his band, Wild West Picture Show, will be entertaining fans outside of the speedway Friday and Saturday at the Cingular Rockin and Racin Concert Series. Mike and his band will be opening for Kenny Wayne Shepard and Drivin’ and Cryin’ at the Earhart Station adjacent to the speedway. The concerts are open to the public and start at 1:00 PM each day.
