 KB III in Lakeland Florida

Ken Butler III took the No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine to Lakeland, Florida for the Naturally Fresh 250 scheduled for Saturday evening. Rain washed out qualifying and postponed the race, forcing the 35-car starting field to be set by 2005 drivers points, so Butler started 22nd for the race.

Trouble found Butler early in the race as the 93 car of David Pletcher hit the 20 car of George Brunnhoelzl III who spun into Butler causing considerable damage to the Dream Machine. The crew worked hard repairing the damage in the garage and sent KBIII back on the track 133-laps down.

Butler kept pace with the lead-lap cars for the remainder of the race and finished 25th. Shane Huffman won the race followed by Toby Porter, Mark McFarland, Bobby Gill and Jay Fogleman.

KBIII is 22nd in the southern division championship points race and seventh in the Rookie of the Year chase.

Brett Butler took 3rd place in the ProChallenge race at the Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, NC Saturday night, then hopped into the Late Model race car for a 55-lap main feature at the speedway. Brett started 14th for the event and worked his way up to 6th before a spin with five laps to go put him the last car on the lead lap. Butler finished 14th
