| With blue skies and warm temperatures, fans began piling into Senoia Speedway for the Aaron’s Pro Challenge race. Aaron’s was well represented on and around the track, with not 1 but 3 dream Machines, signage, and the store front inflatable which greeted fans as they entered into the grandstands. Aaron’s sports marketing team welcomed each guest and encouraged everyone to register for a chance to win the 55 Chevy honoring our 50th Anniversary. Children could also register for a chance to wave the green flag Saturday evening for the start of the Aaron’s 50. |

Ricky Klemeyer kicked off the Aaron’s 50 with the waving of the green flag. On the track, Ken Butler III, driving the #99 Aaron’s Dream Machine, started the race in the 13th position. Three spots behind KB III was Michael Foy, driving the #98 Aaron’s Dream Machine followed by Brett Butler in the 19th position driving the #00 Dream Machine. The Aaron’s 50 kicked off at 7:55 pm with Ricky Kleimeyer waving the green flag.
Things were running well until lap 6 when the #72 car bumped KB III from behind, which spun him sideways and into the wall. KB III said, “We were struggling to get all three of the cars running fast. The cars haven’t really been running well all year. I hate that I got out of the race so early because I was passing and moving up so quickly. I did not have the best car but I was moving up.”
With several cautions during the evening, Brett Butler, having started in the 19th position, made his way into the 12th position where he finished the race. Brett said, “The car was slow but I feel like I could have run better. I almost got tangled up in a few wrecks but I managed to maneuver my way out and I guess I would have been in a better position if I had done better in qualifying.” |

Following Brett across the finish line was partner, Michael Foy. Foy managed to gain two positions from his start in the 16th spot. While preparing to load up his #98 Dream Machine, Foy said, “The car was messing up all night. I even lost power down the straightaway so that kept me from gaining positions. I felt like the car was junk all night.”
In need of speed, the crew will be working on the Dream Machines for the next two weeks, focusing on getting a better set up on the cars and possibly make them faster. The next Pro Challenge will be May 27, 2005 in Anderson, South Carolina.
