BUTLER LOOKS TO END USAR SEASON ON A HIGH NOTE

Ken Butler III will wrap up the 2005 USAR Hooters ProCup Series season this Saturday at the USA International Speedway in Lakeland, FL, where the ¾-mile asphalt speedway will host the Four Champions Memorial Hooters 300 season finale. Ken has raced at USA International Speedway three times this year with a best finish of 12th this past September.

Butler and his Michael Waltrip Racing crew tested at the speedway last week and were pleased with the results. While the No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine was not the fastest car on the track with the qualifying setup, they were very good in their lap-times during long green-flag runs with the race setup, which will benefit them during the 300-lap event.

“I liked the handling of the Dream Machine.” Butler said, “The car was solid entering the turns and had good grip coming out of the turns which really let me get on the gas. Danny (Crafton) said our lap-times were pretty consistent after about 25-laps and the tire wear was good after a long run, so we are really looking forward to ending our season on a high note there at Lakeland.”

KBIII has had a very good rookie year in the series, competing in every scheduled race which qualified him to compete in the last five Championship races. With one race remaining, Butler is sixth in the National Rookie of the Year Points race, a mere 24-points away from fifth. He is currently 29th in the Championship standings, 26-points away from 25th.
