 Arena Bowl Post Game Report

June 13, 2005 (Las Vegas, NV)

As one of the premier partners of the Arena Football League (AFL) Aaron’s Sales and Lease Ownership of Atlanta, GA was represented at all of the leagues events leading up to ArenaBowl XIX Championship game in Las Vegas, NV.

The four-day event featured a star-studded ArenaBattle skills competition, an awards ceremony honoring the leagues brightest stars, a three-day FanFest sponsored by Aaron’s, a celebrity golf tournament, and a concert featuring the Emmy winning group Maroon 5. Sunday started with the Commissioners Tailgate Party and culminated with ArenaBowl XIX featuring the Georgia Force and the Colorado Crush, with half-time entertainment by Bryan Adams, and an on-field post-game party with legendary group Kool and the Gang.

President Ken Butler participated in the Partnership Summit on Friday that featured two high-powered panels that discussed the benefits of sports marketing. Mr. Butler spoke with fellow panelists’ Jon Bon Jovi, John Elway (AFL team owners) and executives from Fox Sports Networks, EA Sports and Champs Sports on how to maximize the value of sports marketing and how being a partner with the league benefits Aaron’s.

Aaron’s took advantage of three days of marketing opportunities as the home office marketing team and local volunteers reached out to visiting AFL fans. Aaron’s setup an interactive tent at the ArenaBowl FanFest on the infamous Freemont Street and outside of the Thomas & Mack Center on game day, where guests enjoyed a festive environment featuring top-name entertainment, dance routines and autograph opportunities with the Aaron’s AFL Dream Team, and product displays leading up to the excitement for Sundays Championship game.

The Aaron’s display featured Dream Products found in our 1084 stores along with register to win oppoartunities, discounts for attending guests and visits from the Aaron’s AFL Dream Team dance team. Crowds gathered at the tent for autographs and photos with the Dream Team and were encouraged to browse and inquire about the product selection inside. Potential customers could find the nearest store to their home, fill out product information cards on the Dream Products they were interested in and register to win the Aaron’s 50th Anniversary Celebration Contest.

The Georgia Force fought a hard battle in Sundays ArenaBowl XIX but their championship dreams ended when Clay Rush drilled a 20-yard field goal as time expired to give the Colorado Crush a 51-48 win over the Georgia Force at the Thomas & Mack Center, giving the Crush its first-ever Arena Football League championship in just its third year of existence.

Congratulations to both teams for an outstanding season!
