Ken Butler III Ready For Return to Lonesome Pine

Butler and the Aaron’s Dream Machine Head up North

MOORESVILLE, NC (April 18, 2006) – Qualifying is two laps long. Most USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series races are 250 laps long. Ken Butler III is getting pretty good at those two laps, as was evident by his great qualifying run in his last race at Peach State Speedway in Georgia. Now, the elder of the two Butler Brothers is looking to improve on running 250 laps. And he hopes it all starts going into Saturday’s showdown at Lonesome Pine Raceway.

“We had a great qualifying run at Peach State,” said Butler. “The Aaron’s Dream Machine was really good. It was the best car I have had other than Bristol. The race didn’t go our way, but it was great in qualifying.

“We are taking the same car and hopefully it will be as good as it was at Peach State and I think that it will. I’ve been up at the shop working on the car all week and I think it is ready to go.”

When the team packs up the Aaron’s Dream Machine and heads up to Coeburn, VA, later this week, one advantage that Butler will have is experience on the track. He raced in the Aaron’s Pro Challenge Series there and claimed a fourth-place finish in the National Championship points race.

“I have raced there in a Pro Challenge car and I really liked the track. It is a fun place to race,” added Butler. “We have never tested our Pro Cup car there. We actually tried to test and the track would not let us. They wouldn’t let anyone test, so it will be interesting if anyone has gotten to test on it or not and to see how the race goes.

“It will be good because at least everyone will be on some type of equal ground and it should make for a good race.”

Ken Butler III, known as KBIII to his teammates and many in the racing community, will take to the track on April 22nd, 2006, as the USAR Hooters Pro Cup heads down to Lonesome Pine Raceway for the Food City 250.
