Cecil, GA. – The Aaron’s Sports Marketing Team headed to Cecil, Georgia this weekend for the USAR ProCup series’ second race of the season. The first pit stop for the Aaron’s team was at Hooter’s Restaurant where customers coming to get into the race mood and chow down were given the opportunity to Register-to-win a trip for two to Las Vegas for the Arena Bowl XX. The Aaron’s Dream Machine simulator and the Termidor simulator were also on site for customers to hop in to take a spin.
Heading over to the South Georgia Motorsports Park to get in on the festivities, race fans were overwhelmed with Aaron’s as they entered the track. Well represented around the track, race fans were drawn to the Aaron’s Storefront inflatable and corporate display tent where fans were greeted by the Aaron’s team. With opportunities to register for the trip for two to Las Vegas for the Arena Bowl, registrants also had an opportunity to win a chance to drive the Aaron’s Dream Machine through SpeedTech Auto Racing. After registering to win, all fans had a chance at spinning the Aaron’s Dream Wheel to win prizes such as Aaron’s hats, koozies, diecast and calculators. The winner to “Drive the Dream machine” was drawn at the start of the race. Congratulations to Bill Towson of Tifton, Georgia for winning the chance to drive the Aaron’s Dream Machine.
Running for rookie of the year, Brett Butler was behind the wheel of the #99 Aaron’s Dream Machine. After a good run in Lakeland, FL., until he experienced engine failure during the first race of the season, Brett had great confidence in himself and the Dream Machine but the team ran into an unfortunate incident during practice. Oil on the track caused Brett to spin out. After hitting the wall, Brett was forced to drive the back up Dream Machine and start the race in the 35th position.

Poised and confident that he could jump back into the race and fight his way to the front, Brett and the Dream Machine ran into more adversity. In his fight to gain positions, an aggressive driver got underneath the Dream Machine and sent Brett into the wall causing heavy damage to the rear of the car making it nearly impossible for Brett to keep up with the pack. After several pit stops and multiple repairs to the rear of the car, Brett stuck it out and fought his way through the race, taking home a 28th place finish.
You can catch the South Georgia 250 on the SpeedChannel this Wednesday, March 15th at 5:00 pm.
The Brettinator’s next stop will be on March 25th at Montgomery Motor Speedway in Montgomery, Alabama. Good Luck Brett!
