Butler Brothers and the USAR in Lakeland

Lakeland, Fl (February 25, 2006) –

The USAR ProCup race series traveled to Lakeland, Florida this past weekend to kick of the start of the 2006 season. The Aaron’s Sports Marketing Team traveled along to participate in the festivities. Taking a pit stop at the local Aaron’s Sales and Lease store, customers had an opportunity to register to win a trip to Las Vegas for the Arena Bowl XX and customers could also take a spin in the new Aaron’s and Termidor simulators.

The Aaron’s Sports Marketing team’s next pit stop was Saturday morning at the USA International Speedway. With gates opening at 11:30 am, Aaron’s was ready for an all day event. With warm weather and clearing skies, the Aaron’s Storefront balloon and corporate display tent were the main attraction as fans began filing through the gate. With an opportunity to register-to-win the trip the Arena Bowl XX in Vegas, fans were also given the opportunity to register-to-win hot laps in the Aaron’s Dream Machine at the track of their choice! Race fans will continue to have the opportunity the register-to-win hot laps at each USAR race and the Aaron’s Lucky Dog will draw the winner on the start finish line before each race. Everyone that registered was given the chance to spin the wheel of dreams and take home give-a-ways such as koozies, hats, calculators and diecast. Congratulations to Curtis Strange of Versailles, Kentucky, the first winner of the Aaron’s Dream Machine Hot Laps.

With great representation around the track, Aaron’s was also well represented on the track. With Brett Butler kicking off his run for “Rookie of the Year”, the #99 Aaron’s Dream Machine was running great with strong practice runs. Being Butler’s first race everyone was looking forward to seeing how he would handle his long awaited anticipation. As expected, Butler had an outstanding qualifying time putting him in the 13th position for the start of the race. Things were looking promising and Butler was feeling great confidence within himself and his car. The race was off to a great start with Butler running strong and maintaining his position.

Fighting to the top ten, Butler was spun out in lap 81 but with great driving skills, he was able to maintain control and steered clear of damaging the Dream Machine. Bringing out the 6th caution of the evening, this placed Butler in the back of the pack for the restart. Fighting his way through the pack, he made it back to the 18th position just before the engine blew in the Aaron’s Dream Machine. Butler said, “The car was running great and we could have easily pulled out a top 5 finish had the engine not have blown. Putting it all behind us, we are working hard on getting the car ready and looking forward to a strong run at South Georgia.” Bringing out the 8th caution of the evening with a blown engine, Butler was forced to retire to the garage, only to anticipate the next shot at a top 5 finish.

Great run Brett and good luck at South Georgia!

Butler’s next run in the #99 Aaron’s Dream Machine is Saturday, March 11 at 7:00 pm at South Georgia Motorsports Park in Cecil, Ga. The race will be broadcast on the Speed Channel on Wednesday, March 15 at 5:00pm and Friday, March 17 at 12:00 pm.
